Pryor takes home MVP

Ohio State commit Isaiah Pryor took home defensive back MVP honors at Saturday's Orlando Rivals Camp. The four-star prospect will be headed to the Five-Star Challenge for the second straight year.

Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy defensive back Isaiah Pryor once again turned in an impressive camp performance on Saturday, taking home defensive backs MVP at the Orlando Rivals Camp. The 6-foot-2, 191-pound prospect used his size, strength and closing speed to make several big plays during 1-on-1's and continues to draw from his experiences on the camp circuit over the past three years.

"I think I did well, I just really tried to use my technique and be aggressive," said Pryor. "The experience helps, but going to different places and going up against different people you never really know what you're going to get."

Pryor has traveled all over the country the past couple of years to compete at camps against some of the nation's best players. It's something he feels will help prepare him for the next level and ease that transition.

"The more diverse looks you get, I feel like the better you're going to be," he said. "It's important that you try and go against the best of the best."

Easing that transition to college was a big reason why Pryor left his Atlanta area home this off-season to head down to Florida to IMG.

"IMG has been really nice," he said. "It's really setup like a college. It allows you to be independent and really choose how you're going to use your free time."

Pryor has been rooming with another future Buckeye defensive back in Marcus Williamson who moved south from Central Ohio right around the same time that Pryor did. The two are hoping they won't be the only ones headed to Columbus next year as they are working on five-star defensive end Josh Kaindoh to join them.

"We get along great and we're both just really excited to get up there," he said. "I know that Ohio State is one of the top schools for Josh (Kaindoh). He said that's one of the top schools that he's looking at."

In today's world of recruiting where commitments might not be as meaningful as they once were, Pryor says he has no second thoughts on making the early commitment to an out-of-state program.

"I feel really comfortable with my commitment," he said. "We visited everywhere and made a sound decision by committing to Ohio State. That's one of the top schools that you can go to and that's where I'm going. The more I get up there, the more comfortable I feel."

Pryor plans to visit Ohio State soon for spring practice and again over the summer when he can work with the Ohio State staff at some of its camps.
